Throughout Jerusalem and the Land of Israel and indeed, the World, the Western Wall represents the focal point of Judaism for centuries. We learn some history, understand the archeology and and hear some stories of the Wall over the centuries to today. ***CHOOSE A DATE AND BOOK IT!***
This short tour is tailor-made for Barmitzvah parties and other simcha groups as part of our Jewish heritage program. You have the Shacharit, the Seudah, why not a tour to make the occasion even more memorable - and educational!
Licensed Israeli tour guide Yoni Lemel will lead the tour in English. We start near the Dung Gate at the southern end and make our way into the Plaza itself.
The theme of the tour will be the above ground Western Wall archeology, and how it relates to the Second Temple, destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE. We will visit a special site in the Muslim Quarter, to see a relatively unknown section of the Wall.
After this, we can head back to any place in the vicinity, the group wishes. There we can summarise and conclude the tour.
Please bring closed walking shoes, sun screen, a hat and bottled water. Modest clothing is essential as we will be entering a sacred site.
Included: licenced tour guide.
Looking forward to seeing you!
